Originally launched in 2009, Jello Underground quickly became an underground sensation of Seattle nightlife. Produced by women with an LGBTQ-friendly atmosphere, the diverse presentation featuring powerful women of all ethnicities and body types, attracted equally diverse crowds of both men and women. Quickly propelling the theater sport into a category all-its-own, attracting media attention nationwide, and garnering an extremely dedicated fan base.
After a nearly three-year hiatus, the show is back for a monthly run at an all new venue, the EVolv Brawl Room in South Lake Union. Housed within the EVolv Fitness of Seattle building, the brawl room is literally an underground battle space complete with full-size wrestling ring. The perfect home befitting of the backroom-aesthetic and unique DIY-presentation of the original production. Led by host Georgia Myles, an acclaimed singer/performer in her own right, and pioneer who helped launch the Seattle Burlesque scene in the 1990’s.
Jello Underground is a loud and exciting spectacle, bringing together fans from the local arts, theater, comedy, and sports communities. Throwing out the stale misogynistic concept of what jello wrestling could be, and instead welcoming in a brash female-empowering (and hugely entertaining) competition. There is truly nothing else like this. With random celebrity guest appearances, an amazing cast of female performers, and a thrilling non-stop battle for the championship title.
