Moldmade is an exhibition of cast objects, which includes work by eleven individual artists. Works featured are diverse in manifestation but unified in the process of creation - casting. Intrinsically casting is a way to reiterate, creating either a copy or an echo of an original form. The casting process transforms static materials like glass, clay, and metal into repeated forms. Casting allows artists to push materials and manipulate forms to express both difference and similarity, to explore repetition itself and its effects on decoration, or to simply create a physical record. The act of casting is both memorializing and innovative.
